Geographical distribution: Brazil and Argentina. There is one record from Venezuela, probably caused by misidentification and not considered valid here.
Distribution in Brazil: Southeast Region (MG, RJ) ( Drake 1957b; Nieser & Melo 1997; Vianna & Melo 2003; Melo & Nieser 2004; Pelli et al. 2006; Souza et al. 2006).
