Diagnosis
Females of T. rollardae sp. nov. can be recognized by the peculiar shape of spermathecae and the small insemination ducts ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 D).
Type material
Holotype. ♀, Indonesia: Sumatra, West Sumatra Province: Mt Merapi, c. 15 km southeast of Bukittiggi, 1650–1700 m, hill forest , 4 June 2006, leg. P.J. Schwendinger ( MHNG, Sum-06 / 07) .
Paratypes. Data as holotype, 1♀, ( MHNG, Sum-06 / 07) .
Etymology
The specific epithet is an eponymous patronym (genitive form of a noun), dedicated to Dr Christine Rollard (MHNH) in gratitude for her generous hospitality.
Description
Female (holotype). Total length 5.12; prosoma 2.46 long, 1.68 wide; opisthosoma 2.66 long, 1.34 wide. Leg formula: 1423; I 11.34 (2.56, 1.08, 3.54, 2.46, 1.70); II 8.94 (2.06, 1.00, 2.74, 1.94, 1.20); III 7.56 (1.72, 0.96, 2.14, 1.66, 1.08); IV 10.82 (2.68, 1.04, 3.00, 2.64, 1.46). Spination: Leg I: Femora p1-1; tibiae p10 r9; metatarsi p6 r6. Leg II: Tibiae p8 r8; metatarsi p5 r4. Carapace orange-brown; submarginal lobes triangular, their apices blunt. Sternum brown. Legs hairless, bi-coloured: Tibiae, metatarsi and tarsi yellowish brown, other segments brown. Opisthosoma elongate-ovoid. Dorsum pale, posteriorly with a series of pale chevrons.
Genitalia ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 C,D): Epigyne with circular copulatory orifices situated anteriorly. Insemination ducts elongated, slender, descending posteriorly then abruptly bent, moving transversely and curving posteriorly, connected to lateral portion of spermathecae without distinctive border. Secretory ampullae spherical, minute, originating proximally on insemination ducts. Spermathecae reniform, anterior portion strongly elongated, enlarged posteriorly, provided with glandular pore on inner surface. Fertilization ducts lanceolated.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution
Known only from the type locality on the west coast of Sumatra ( Figure 18).
