Verodes scabrosus (Solier, 1841)
This species is endemic to Mexico in the states of Oaxaca, Veracruz ( Champion 1884), and Durango ( Fairmaire 1894). The previous records from Orizaba in Veracruz ( Champion 1884) are corroborated by the following: “ MEXICO: Veracruz, Tequila, Kohyomixtla, 1-VI-2011, 1,850 m, Bosque mesófilo, en troncos, L. Delgado, E. Mora-A., L. Lara cols.” (1 ♂, 1 ♀, IEXA). The record of “Jalapa” (in the state of Veracruz) by Champion (1884) needs confirmation due to mislabeling by the collector Höge ( Delgado et al. 2012). Additionally, the locality “Congo” for Scoriaderma congolense Fairmaire (a junior synonym of V. scabrosus ) in the state of Durango (Foley and Ivie 2008) also needs confirmation, since Durango is a distant state from Oaxaca and Veracruz, and there are no intermediate records.
