Herb, erect, 40–80 cm high; young branches terete, white pubescent. Leaves digitately 3-foliolate. Stipules falcate, 10–15 × 2–4 mm, white puberulous, persistent. Petioles 3.5–5.5 cm long, silvery pubescent. Petiolules 0.8–1 mm long. Leaflets oblanceolate or obovate, 2–5 × 0.5–1.5 cm, base cuneate, apex obtuse or acute, margin entire, glabrous rarely puberulous upper, brown pubescent lower; lateral veins inconspicuous. Inflorescences terminal, open racemes, 3–6 cm long; peduncle 5–7 cm long, brown pubescent. Bracts minute, caducous. Pedicels 2–3 mm long, brown pubescent. Bracteoles inserted distally on the pedicel, narrowly linear, 2–3 mm long, caducous. Calyx View in CoL 3–4 mm long, campanulate, bilabiate; tube 1.3–1.5 mm long; lobes triangular, 1.5–1.7 mm long, glabrous inside, white puberulous outside. Corolla View in CoL yellow-orange. Standard: claw 1–1.5 mm long, glabrous; blade ovate, 8–9 × 8–9 mm, base truncate, apex acute, margin glabrous. Wings: claw 1.8–2 mm long, glabrous; blade oblong, 8.5–9 × 3–3.5 mm, base oblique, apex obtuse, margin glabrous. Keel: claw 1.8–2 mm long, glabrous; blade lanceolate, 8–8.2 × 3.5–4 mm, beak not twisted, base obtuse with white tomentum, apex attenuate, margin white tomentose. Stamens: filaments fused for proximal 4–5 mm, free for distal 3–6 mm; anthers either narrowly linear, 1–1.2 mm long or oblong, ca. 0.5 mm long. Ovary sessile, elliptic, 3.8–4 mm long, brown pubescent; style 6–7 mm long, adaxially white pubescent in a single line along the distal edge, abaxially glabrous. Pods sessile, elliptic, 1.5–1.8 × 0.5–0.7 cm, brown with white pubescence. Seeds reniform, 4–5 × 2.5–2.8 mm, orange-brown.

Distribution: —North America, Africa, Asia ( Thailand), Australia. ( Figure 10 View FIGURE 10 ).
Ecology: —Roadsides, open places in deciduous dipterocarp forests, elevation 140– 270 m.
Notes: — Crotalaria goreensis is easily distinguished by its oblanceolate or obovate digitately 3-foliolate leaves, its falcate stipules, pubescent pods and orange-brown seeds. Lectotypes of three names are designated here: C. goreensis , C. goreensis var. angustifolia and C. macrostipula ; Guillemin & Perrottet (1832) described C. goreensis based on Perrotter s.n. (P!) and Perrotter 170 (P!). Baker (1871) described C. goreensis var. angustifolia based on Batrer 1789 (K!), Mann 37 (K!) and Perrotter 169 (BM!). Two collections, Schimper 708 (BR n.v., FI n.v., K!, MO n.v., MPU n.v., P!, S n.v., TUB n.v.) and Schimper 702 (WAG n.v.) are mentioned in the original description of C. macrostipula . Therefore, Perrotter 170 (P!), Batrer 1789 (K!) and Schimper 708 (P!) are designated here as the lectotypes for the three names.
