Herbs or shrublets, erect or prostrate. Leaves simple, or digitately compound 3 − 5-foliolate; stipules present or absent. Inflorescences racemose, terminal, axillary or leaf-opposed, open or capitate; bracts persistent or caducous; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel or on the calyx tube, persistent or caducous. Calyx View in CoL truncate or campanulate, radial with 5 subequal lobes or bilabiate. Corolla View in CoL yellow to orange or purple; standard with two basal appendages, glabrous; wings oblong, elliptic or obovate; keel connate from the middle towards the apex, incurved, beak spirally twisted or not twisted. Stamens 10, monadelphous, glabrous; anthers dimorphic, glabrous, 5 large on short filaments and 5 small on long filaments. Ovary sessile or stipitate, glabrous or hairy; style with one or two lines of hairs or dispersed pubescent. Fruits inflated, sessile or stipitate pods. Seeds reniform or harp-shaped, with or without aril.
