Herb, erect, (0.5–) 0.7–1 m high; young branches angular, brown pubescent. Leaves simple. Stipules falcate, 4–15 × 2–12 mm long, persistent. Petioles 1–3 mm long. Lamina elliptic or obovate, 3–6 × 1–2.5 cm, base cuneate, apex acute or obtuse, margin entire, both surfaces glabrous; lateral veins 4–7 pairs. Inflorescences terminal, open racemes, 8–22 cm long; peduncle 3.5–5 cm long, sparsely puberulous. Bracts narrowly linear, 1–3 mm long, caducous. Pedicels 8–12 mm long, brown puberulous. Bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, minute, persistent. Calyx View in CoL 9–10 mm long, truncate; tube 4–5 mm long; lobes subequal, triangular, ca. 5 mm long, glabrous inside, brown puberulous outside. Corolla View in CoL yellow. Standard: claw 2–2.5 mm long, white tomentose above and along the margin, glabrous below; blade orbicular, 17–18 × 18–20 mm, base truncate, apex rounded, margin glabrous. Wings: claw 2.5–3 mm long, glabrous; obovate, 16–17 × 8–10 mm, base oblique, apex rounded, margin glabrous. Keel: claw 3–3.5 mm long, glabrous, margin white pubescent; blade ovate, 12–13 × 7–8 mm, beak spirally twisted, base oblique, white pubescent, apex attenuate, margin glabrous. Stamens: filaments fused for proximal 6–7 mm, free for distal 5–8 mm; anthers either narrowly linear, 2–2.5 mm long or oblong, 1–1.2 mm long. Ovary with 1–1.2 mm long stipe, oblong, 5–5.5 mm long, brown pubescent; style 14–15 mm long, adaxially white pubescent in a single line along the distal edge, abaxially glabrous. Pods with 3–4 mm long stipe, elliptic, 3.5–5.5 × 0.4–0.5 mm, brown with brown pubescence. Seeds reniform, 3.5 − 4 × 3 − 3.2 mm, brown.

Notes: — Crotalaria semperflorens is recognized by its large yellow corolla,falcate stipules, terminal inflorescences, persistent bracteoles, truncate calyx and pubescent ovary.
