Castillon & J.-P.Castillon , Les Aloe de Madagascar: 28 ( Castillon & Castillon 2010). — Aloe horombensis J.-P.Castillon subsp. ruffingiana (Rauh & Petignat) J.-P.Castillon , nom. illeg., Adansonia, sér. 3, 36 (2): 230 ( Castillon 2014).

SPÉCIMEN TYPE. — Madagascar • Reg.Androy, District d’Ambovombe: Ampolonora , environs d’Antanimora; VIII.1998; Hermann Petignat 671; holotype: HEID.

CARACTÉRISTIQUES MORPHOLOGIQUES. — Feuilles triangulaires vertes tachetées de blanc, avec des marges rougeâtres; épines soudées en une marge continue.

DISTRIBUTION ET ÉCOLOGIE. – Rochers granitiques vers Ambovombe.

NOTE

La plante ne nous est pas connue, mais semble fort proche de A. subacutissima subsp. esomonyensis comb. nov. avec laquelle nous l’avions mise en synonymie ( Castillon & Castillon 2010). Cependant, dans le doute, nous écartons ici cette synonymie.
