BASIONYM: Gloiosaccion pumilum J. Agardh 1892, p. 85 .

TYPE: Port Phillip Heads , [ New Holland] Victoria, South Australia, coll. J. Br. Wilson ( Womersley 1996: 54). Holotype in Herb. Agardh, LD 26407 .

DISTRIBUTION: Southern Australia ( Womersley 1996: 54), Indonesia (fide Weber-van Bosse 1928, Atmadja & Prud’homme van Reine 2012).

MATERIAL EXAMINED: Edithburgh Pier, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, coll. C. F.D. Gurgel, 17.i.2010, 35º05’04’’ S, 137º49’56’’E ( AD-A 90892).

HABIT: The specimen examined was air-dried on a herbarium sheet, and shows a distinct multi-vesiculate thallus ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17–23 ).

NOTE: Womersley (1996) views G. pumilum J. Agardh to be a slender and young plant of G. brownii .
