3.5. Seasonality and Blastocystis occurrence

According to the binary logistic model, season was shown to be strongly related with the occurrence (presence/absence) of Blastocystis in macropods (i.e., kangaroo and wallaby) (p <0.05, ᵡ 2 of 6.99*10 – 4), whereas, for deer, Blastocystis occurrence was not significantly linked to season (p> 0.05, ᵡ 2 of 0.25) ( Table 4). Furthermore, the odds of Blastocystis occurrence in macropods in summer were 1.88 times (88%) higher than that of autumn.
