Distribution — Mexico (Veracruz), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, French Guiana, Brazil (Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Maranhão, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul), Bolivia (Santa Cruz, Tarija), Peru, Argentina (Tucumán).
Anisopodus variegatus Burmeister, 1865: 178 View in CoL .
Type locality — Holotype: Argentina, Tucumán ( MACN).
