Description: Male: COLORATION: Mostly black and red or black and orange. STRUCTURE: As in description of the crassipes + pictipes species groups, with inner margin of genital opening with sclerotized protuberances ( Fig. 5A–J), median process of pygophore nearly vertical in lateral view ( Fig. 3A–J), apical portion of ramus produced as a small, acute projection ( Fig. 4A, D, E, J), paramere strongly curved ( Fig. 9A–J), phallosoma sclerotized laterally ( Fig. 7A–J), struts in dorsal view slender, lateral sclerotizations with proximal C-shaped portion tightly spiraled, median dorsal lobe membranous ( Fig. 6A–J).
Female: Larger than male, similar to male except in the following: STRUCTURE: Abdomen: lateral extension of tergite 8 strongly produced and directed ventrad, nearly 90 degrees to horizontal axis of body, base wider than apical portion, apical portion triangular, with round apex, surface concave medially ( Fig. 10A–J), syntergite 9/10 about 1.7 times as wide as long ( Fig. 11A–J). Genitalia: anterior dorsal area of bursa copulatrix with one or two sclerotized folds, dorsal-most sclerotized fold not protruding over other folds, without produced apex ( Figs 14A–J, 15A–J).
