Type (lectotype designated by Webb & Gornall 1989: 116):— ITALY. Saxifraga callosa , Piedmont, August, Bellardi s.n. ( BM).

Note:—This name was described in a collection of 100 herbarium specimens of pressed and dried plants, and bound into a volume with printed text, a copy of which was found in the library at BM.
