Type (lectotype designated by Dogan in Davis 1985: 324, erroneously indicated as holotype):— ITALY. in pratis siccis sabulosis; loco vulgo dicto Granatello , s.d., Tenore s.n. ( NAP) .

Note:—Fl. Med. Univ. (Tomo Primo) (1822), probably a first edition of Corso Bot. Lez. 4(1) (1823), may not have been actually distributed in 1822, as recently demonstrated for other works of the time (Figuereido et al. 2018). The publication dates of Fl. Napol. 2 are based on the analysis of the works cited by Tenore himself inside the volume. A new combination is required as the two previous Pignatti’s combinations are invalid due to the lack of a full and direct reference to the correct basionym, as required by Art. 41.5 of the ICN.
