Megaphyllum beroni ( Strasser, 1973) View in CoL
Chromatoiulus (Chromatoiulus) beroni Strasser, 1973: 444 View in CoL –446, 455 and 460, Figs 49–51 View FIGURES 48 – 52 . Chromatoiulus beroni: Ceuca 1992: 425 View in CoL .
Megaphyllum beroni: Vagalinski & Stoev 2007: 48 View in CoL ; Enghoff & Kime 2009.
Distribution in the Balkans. Bulgaria: Rhodope Mts.: Dyavolskoto Garlo Cave near Trigrad ( type locality) ( Vagalinski & Stoev 2007).
World distribution. Endemic to the Rhodope Mts., Bulgaria.
Remarks. Though known only from a cave, this species is regarded as trogloxene, having no evident troglobiotic adaptations. Thorough searching of the cave did not result in a second finding of beroni , thus it could have been an accidental shelter in the cave of a very rare, endemic surface species ( Beron 1994).
