Holotype male, from Loma del Gato , Sierra del Cobre , Oriente province [at present Santiago de Cuba province], Cuba. Elevation, 2600 – 3325 feet. [ ANSP- 5590].
Distribution. High areas in eastern provinces of Cuba.
Notes. Rehn and Rehn (1942) note that this species has affinities to M. meddix .
