Strigamia sacolinensis ( Meinert, 1870) View in CoL *
References for morphology: Meinert 1870; Seliwanoff 1884.
Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Scolioplanes View in CoL , it was subsequently cited also under Linotaenia . Other specimens were recorded and the validity of the species was never questioned. It is assigned here to Strigamia View in CoL for the first time (new combination), because it shares all the major diagnostic features of Strigamia View in CoL (see above under “Notes on synonymies”). However, published descriptions suggest that it could be a senior synonym of either S. hirsutipes View in CoL or S. japonica View in CoL , because the only differential character recognized is the putative projection of the forcipules in front of the anterior margin of the head ( Meinert 1870) but this condition is not known in any other species of Strigamia View in CoL or related genera and it can be due to some post-mortem displacement of the head with respect to the trunk (our obs. in other geophilomorphs).
Distribution: southern part of Siberia, from central Asia to Sakhalin island.
