Strigamia exul ( Meinert, 1886) View in CoL *
References for morphology: Meinert 1886; Cook 1896; Crabill in Mercurio 2010.
Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Scolioplanes View in CoL , it was cited rarely in the literature, under either Scolioplanes View in CoL or Tomotaenia. After re-examining the holotype, Cook (1896) recognized it as a distinct species. It is assigned here to Strigamia View in CoL for the first time (new combination) because it shares all major diagnostic features of Strigamia View in CoL . However, it is considered a distinct species only tentatively, because available information is not enough to distinguish it confidently from other species, including S. epileptica View in CoL and S. fusata .
Distribution: unknown. The single known specimen is of uncertain provenance, but probably from North America ( Attems 1929; Mercurio 2010).
