Material examined: KAZAKHSTAN: Taraz (formerly Dzhambul) Province: 1♂ ( ZMMU) Karatau Mts., 20 km from Dzhambul (now Taraz), 16.05.1991 (S. Ovtchinnikov). TAJIKISTAN: Khatlon (formerly Kurgan-Tyube) Province: 2♀ ( ZMMU), Garavuti, Aktau Mts., Sostokoz Village, 18.06.1973 (A. Kononenko).
Diagnosis. Differs from F. mikhailovi sp. n. by the larger body size and lighter coloration. Unlike F. mikhailovi sp. n., the male of F. uzbekistanica has shortened and slightly curved tibial apophysis. It differs from F. fet i sp. n. by the smaller size of the male palp, straight retrolateral margin of cymbium and tegulum (concave cymbium and rounded tegulum in other species) and by the narrower posterior part of epigynal fovea in females. From F. mongolica it differs by the longer and thinner posterior parts of insemination ducts and smaller receptacles. Compared to all other Fedotovia species, F. uzbekistanica has much thicker legs.
Description. Male. Total length 6.9. Carapace: 3.45 long, 2.6 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.1, ALE 0.14, PME 0.13, PLE 0.14, AME‒AME 0.1, AME‒ALE 0.06, PME‒PME 0.07, PME‒PLE 0.19, ALE‒PLE 0.27; MOQ length 0.4, front width 0.29, back width 0.34. Coloration: carapace, chelicerae and labium yellowbrown. Cheliceral promargin with 2 teeth, retromargin with 6‒7 teeth. Maxillae, sternum and legs yellow. Opisthosoma dirty-yellow. Spinnerets yellow. Tibia I length/width ratio 3.6. Spination as in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .
Leg measurements
Palp as in Figs 19‒21 View FIGURES 13 – 21 , 26 View FIGURES 22 – 28 . Cymbium with straight retrolateral margin; tibial apophysis short (shorter than tibia) and thick; retrolateral margin of tegulum straight with distinct triangular protrusion (Pr) in the terminal part ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 13 – 21 ).
Female. Total length 7.0. Carapace: 3.3 long, 2.6 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.11, ALE 0.2, PME 0.14, PLE 0.19, AME‒AME 0.06, AME‒ALE 0.06, PME‒PME 0.06, PME‒PLE 0.17, ALE‒PLE 0.23; MOQ length 0.43, front width 0.27, back width 0.36. Coloration: carapace and chelicerae light brown. Cheliceral promargin with 2 teeth, retromargin with 6 teeth. Maxillae, labium and sternum yellow-brown. Legs yellow, but metatarsi and tarsi of I and II legs are light brown. Opisthosoma yellow-grey, more grayish dorsally. Spinnerets yellow. Tibia I length/width ratio 3.1. Spination as in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .
Leg measurements
Epigyne as in Figs 56‒59 View FIGURES 56 – 63 ; fovea oval, lateral margin at basal half rounded, converging; tip of scape located in center of fovea; insemination ducts relatively thin, make 3‒4 coils close to receptacles.
Size variation. The second female: total length 9.8, carapace 3.6 long and 2.65 wide.
For a more detailed description see Ovtsharenko & Platnick (1991) who studied the holotype. Distribution. Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (Map 1). The record from western Mongolia ( Ovtsharenko & Platnick 1991; material not examined) most likely refers to F. mongolica or F. feti sp. n. (see above). Recently this species was reported from western Kazakhstan ( Ponomarev & Abdurakhmanov 2014), the westernmost locality of the species and genus.
