Type Locality. Suriname, Sipaliwini, Raleighvallen Nature Reserve, Voltzberg trail, detrital pools along stream, 4°40.910ʹ N, 56°11.138ʹ W GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. This species has male genitalia moderately modified with the median lobe in lateral aspect short and evenly curved ( Fig. 5 View Figs ). In ventral aspect, the median lobe is moderately broad medially, apically abruptly narrowed, and apically narrowly bispinous ( Fig. 6 View Figs ). The lateral lobe is bifid with each ramus relatively elongate, the dorsal one apically rounded, the ventral one apically curved and pointed ( Figs. 7, 8 View Figs ). Specimens are pale with the head and pronotum evenly yellow-orange and the elytra evenly brown. The short, stout median lobe with the lateral margins sinuate and apically convergent to a bispinous apex ( Fig. 6 View Figs ) is unique in the D. nitida species-group.

Description. Measurements: TL = 1.4–1.5 mm, GW = 0.9–1.0 mm, HW = 0.5 mm, EW = 0.3 mm, TL/GW = 1.5, HW/EW = 1.8–1.9. Coloration: Head and pronotum evenly yellow-orange. Elytron evenly brown. Ventral surfaces and appendages orange. Male genitalia: Male median lobe in lateral aspect short, moderately broad basally, apically narrow, curved and apically narrowly rounded ( Fig. 5 View Figs ). Median lobe in ventral aspect broad basally, lateral margins convergent apically, broadly sinuate, apically abruptly constricted to sharply bifid apex ( Fig. 6 View Figs ). Lateral lobe in lateral aspect very large, broad basally, curved apically, terminating in 2 long lobes, ventral lobe somewhat sinuate, apically pointed and setose, dorsal lobe narrow basally, apically slightly expanded with apex rounded ( Figs. 7, 8 View Figs ).

Variation. No noticeable variation was detected.

Etymology. This species is named delongi in honor of Dr. Mahlon R. DeLong, MD.

Distribution. This species is only known from the type locality in Suriname ( Fig. 69 View Figs ).

Habitat. Specimens were collected from “detrital pools along stream” and “margin of stream.”

Type Material. Holotype in NZCS, male labeled, “ SURINAME: Sipaliwini District 04°40.910ʹN, 56°11.138ʹW, 78 m Raleighfallen nature Reserve Voltzberg trail; detrital pools along stream; leg. A.
