This species is distinguished by its white bordered leaves. In 1910, Steifelhagen (in Bot. Jahrb. 44: 473. 1910) recorded S. marginata around Urfa-Siverek. In 1978, Lall & Mill mentioned that they did not see any material of that species. After our intensive field work in that area and also in Urfa-Diyarbakır, we were not able to find out this species.
