Material. Ex A. chloropterus , NEW GUINEA: Holotype male, allotype female of F. emersoni ( KCEM), Bulolo, 3 Mar. 1962, H. Clissold; 1 male, 2 females ( UMSP), Bulolo River, BBM-NG 27880, P. Shanahan; 1 male ( UMSP), Wau, 27 Feb. 1963, BBM-NG 20349, H. Clissold.
Remarks. While very similar to F. c a m e ro n i, the male of F. emersoni differs in the shape of the parameres, the characteristic kidney-bean shape of the penis, and the presence of a bridge connecting the lateral portions of tergite IX. Females of these two species are very close, with F. emersoni having a total of 23– 33 setae on sterna IV–VI.
