Types: ♂ holotype from Costa Rica: Puerto Armuelles; G. W. Martin, 5-VIII-1952. Deposited at the NMNH, cat. no. 2468 ( Hoffman 1960; D. DeRoche, pers. comm.).

Distribution: known only from the type locality.
