Types: ♂ and ♀ syntypes from Ecuador: Quito ? Material originally deposited at the MNHN, we could not confirm its current state; it is not listed in their on-line database.

Distribution: no certain information other than Ecuador.

Comments: Brölemann (1919) proposed the name P. cyrtorhabdus for his P. aequatorialis to resolve the homonymy with P. aequatorialis Silvestri , an action made five years earlier by Attems (1914), who named it P. aequinoctius .
