Description of Novosphingobium indicum KYW View in CoL 772
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, flagellated, pigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are opaque, round, smooth, convex, and light yellow colored after 3 days on MA at 25°C. Negative for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, indole production, urease and gelatinase in API 20NE. D-maltose is utilized. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid, capric acid and adipic acid. Strain KYW772 (= NIBRBA0000114110) has been isolated from seawater, Gwangyang-si, Korea.
