Blattochaeta hawelkai Knirsch, 1929 View in CoL
Remarks: Blattochaeta hawelkai was described from its type locality (according the catalogue) located in Ledenice Mts., Montenegro. Despite our effort to study Knirsh‘s type material deposited in the collection in The Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, Illinois, USA), we were not successful due to Covid–19 restrictions. Ledenice Mts. is considerably distant from other localities of Blattochaeta . It is approximately 50 km from the type locality of the Blattochaeta brankojalzici sp. nov. and 100 km from the type locality of the Blattochaeta peterhlavaci sp. nov. Large geographical distances have been shown to represent natural barriers to the possibility of spreading a particular species of subterranean insect. Consequently, in most cases, the particular geographical populations represent separate species. With this in mind, we here describe two new species of Blattochaeta without their comparison with Blattochaeta hawelkai Knirsch, 1929 .
