Genus Blattochaeta Reitter, 1910

Diagnosis. A member of the subterranean tribe Leptodirini , subtribe Bathysciina , group Théléomorphes, division II sensu Jeannel 1924, defined by: bathysciod body shape, protarsi four segmented in both sexes, protibiae lacking comb (pecten) along the lateral external margin and lacking external apical spurs, pronotum evenly convex, trapezoidal and widest at its base, inner sac (endophallus) of median lobe with sclerotized structures (apical reinforcement bands, medially positioned sclerotized structures, feather-like structures, connection nodules and basal phanera).
