Material examined. JAPAN: Kagoshima Prefecture, Osumi Islands, Yakushima Island, Miyanoura River, sweeping, holotype male, 24.iii.1999, H. Suzuki (No. 382: 70). CHINA: Hunan Province, Dongan County, Shunhuang Mountain (26°23’ N, 110°64’ E), 1000 m a.s.l., sweeping, 1 male (BDN No. 26208), 28.vii.2004, Chuncai Yan.
Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other East Asian members of the genus by antenna with 10 flagellomeres, AR 0.40– 0.48, hind tibia with one strongly hooked seta near spur, palpomere 5/ 3: 2.3, tergite IX with semitransparent structure, superior volsella undeveloped, and inferior volsella small and rounded.
Emended description. “Anal point absent (conical structure may be regarded as the part of phallapodeme). Other characters are consistent with the original description but some additional characters should be added: Tentorium 110 µm long, 15 µm wide. Wing length / length of profemur: 3.2. Palpomeres length (in µm) 13: 15: 23: 35: 80, palpomeres 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, Palpomere 5/3: 2.3. Tergite IX semitransparent. Inferior volsella small and rounded. Gonocoxite 80 µm long with 3 long apical setae. Gonostylus 25 µm long with a megaseta 7.5 µm long. Transverse sternapodeme 23µm long, with small oral projection; phallapodeme curved, 40 µm long. HR 3.2, HV 6.0.
Distribution. Japan and China (Hunan Province).
