Material examined. Tsushima Island, Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, sweeping, holotype male, 25.iii.1998, H. Suzuki (No. 355: 16). CHINA: Hunan Province, Yanling County, Taoyuandong (113°56΄– 114°05΄ E, 26°25΄–26°35΄ N), 1000–3000 m a.s.l., sweeping, 3 males (BDN No. 25316, 25318, 25498), 16.vii.2004, Chuncai Yan; Fujian Province, Yongtai County (25°52’ N, 118°57’ E), 1130 m a.s.l., light trap, 1 male (BDN No. 20446), 17.ix.2002, Zheng Liu.
Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other East Asian members of the genus by having an antenna with 10 flagellomeres; AR 0.40–0.66; palpomere 5/ 3: 3.3; superior volsella rounded; and inferior volsella low and protruding, with crooked edge.
Emended description. “VR 0.56–0.59” should be changed to “VR 1.6”. Other characters are consistent with the original description, but some additional characters may be added: Tentorium 133 µm long, 23 µm wide. Wing length / length of profemur: 3.2. Palpomeres length (in µm): 15; 18; 38; 60; 125, palpomeres 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, palpomere 5/ 3: 3.3. Gonocoxite 98 µm long with 5 long setae apically and a long apodeme. Gonostylus 38 µm long with megaseta 10 µm long. Inferior volsella with crooked edge. Transverse sternapodeme 30 µm long, with oral projection; phallapodeme median concave, 28 µm long. HR 2.6, HV 4.9.
Distribution. Japan and China (Hunan and Fujian Province).
