Material examined. JAPAN: Tokyo Metropolis, Bonin Islands, Chichijima Island and Kitamura, Hahajima Island, Shigure Dam & Sakaiura, sweeping, holotype male, 16.iv.1996, H. Suzuki (No. 307: 64).
Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other East Asian members of the genus by antenna with 12 flagellomeres, AR 0.30, palpomere 5/ 3: 4.5; superior volsella long and narrow, with rounded corner; inferior volsella nearly rectangular.
Emended description. Antenna with 12 flagellomeres (11 flagellomeres in the original description). Other characters are consistent with the original description, but some additional characters should be added: Tentorium 103 µm long, 23 µm wide. Wing length / length of profemur: 2.7. Palpomeres length (in µm): -; 18; 28; 45; 123. Palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender; palpomere 5/ 3: 4.5. Inferior volsella broad. Transverse sternapodeme narrow, 33 µm long with oral projections; phallapodeme slightly curved, 38 µm long. Gonocoxite 90 µm long with 6 long setae apically. Gonostylus 45 µm long. HR 2.0, HV 3.1.
