Material examined. JAPAN: Hokkaido, Shiribashi, Ginzan, sweeping, holotype male, 2.ix.2000, H. Suzuki (No. 404: 22). CHINA: Fujian Province, Yongtai County, Forestry Bureau (25°52’ N, 118°57’ E), 1130 m a.s.l., light trap, 1 male (BDN No. 20332), 16.ix.2002, Zheng Liu.
Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other East Asian members of the genus by having antenna with 12 flagellomeres, AR c. 0.5, superior volsella triangular, inferior volsella low and triangular, and tergite IX partly semi-transparent.
Emended description. Anal point absent (in lieu of anal point narrow triangular and pointed). The Chinese specimens are with the following measurements: Total length 1.20–1.52 mm, wing length 0.71–0.92 mm. Wing length / length of profemur: 2.8. Antenna with 12 flagellomeres, AR 0.48–0.63. Tentorium 120 µm long, 15 µm wide. Palpomeres length (in µm): 17.5; 20; 30; 45; 95; palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, palpomere 5/ 3: 3.2. Fore trochanter with keel. Tergite IX with semitransparent irregular structure. Gonocoxite 65–78 µm long with 2–3 long setae apically. Gonostylus 30 µm long with megaseta 8– 10 µm long. Superior volsella triangular. Inferior volsella developed, low and triangular, with many setae. Transverse sternapodeme narrow, 30–38 µm long, with weak oral projections; phallapodeme curved, 40–43 µm long. HR 2.2–2.6, HV 4.0–5.0.
Distribution. Japan and China (Fujian Province).
