Copidosoma boucheanum Ratzeburg, 1844 View in CoL ( Figures 1A–1C View Figure 1 )

Materials examined: Iran, Alborz Province, Sirachal, Research Station , 23.vi.1991, ex Tortricidae on Populus sp. , M. Bab-Morad leg., 20 ♀♀ and 3 ♂♂ .

Diagnosis. All of the features of the specimens that we collected in Iran match well with those reported by Guerrieri and Noyes (2005), except for the following characters: 1) studied specimens with 3–4 mm length are slightly larger than specimens examined by Guerrieri and *: This species was originally described from Iran without exact type locality .

Noyes (2005); 2) fore coxae yellow, while Guerrieri and Noyes (2005) mentioned that they varied from completely yellow to completely brown with a metallic green sheen; 3) exerted part of ovipositor varying from 1 to 1.1 times as long as midtibia ( Figure 1A View Figure 1 ), whereas it was mentioned as 0.8–1.1 times as long by Guerrieri and Noyes (2005); 4) antenna with scape long and slender, about 9 times as long as broad, F1 about 6.6 times as long as broad and about 2 times as long as pedicel ( Figure 1C View Figure 1 ), while it was described as 6.4 times as long as broad by Guerrieri and Noyes (2005).

Geographical distribution. This is the first record of C. boucheanum in Iran, but it is known from Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East ( Noyes, 2013).

Hosts. These specimens were reared from leafroller larvae (Lep.: Tortricidae ) on Populus sp. as a polyembryonic endoparasitoid ( Figures 2A and 2B).

Copidosoma boucheanum is a parasitoid of different microlepidopterous families ( Gelechiidae , Lymantriidae , Tortricidae , and Yponomeutidae ) ( Guerrieri and Noyes, 2005).
