Types. Holotype: male from Hacienda Hierba Buena , Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta , San Pedro de la Sierra, Ciénaga, Magdalena, Colombia, 2104 m, 10.895138°N, 73.999611°W, 6.V.2016, L. Etymology. The specific epithet is a patronym in honor of Dr. Jerzy Prószyński, for his many contributions to taxonomic studies on jumping spiders of the world.
Diagnosis. Males of H. proszynskii sp. nov. differ from those of the remaining species of the genus by the presence of a long and curved RTA, a long retroventral tibial apophysis (RvTA), and a developed proventral tibial apophysis (PvTA) ( Figs 12–14 View FIGURES 12 – 16 ). Females can be diagnosed by their epigyne with a posterior pocket with anterolateral copulatory openings (co) in an oval atrium, rounded spermathecae and longitudinal posterior digitiform glands (dg) ( Figs 15–16 View FIGURES 12 – 16 ).
Description. Male (holotype, ICN -Ar 8208). Total length: 5.70. Carapace brownish-yellow, dorsally with a yellow medial marking and a posterior dark-brown bifid marking, 2.60 long, 1.80 wide, 1.50 high. Dorsal eye field 1.50 long, surrounded by white, yellow, orange and brown hairs. Anterior eye row 1.60 wide, posterior 1.40 wide ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 3 – 4 , 6 View FIGURES 5 – 6 ). Sternum yellow, 1.00 long, 0.75 wide. Chelicerae dark brownish-red, with a very poorly developed mastidion, represented by a small bump ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 6 ), with four promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Clypeus with a white beard. Labium yellow. Palp: femur ventrally curved, with the embolus arising from the retrolateral side of the tegulum ( Figs 12–14 View FIGURES 12 – 16 ). Legs 1342, all yellow, except the first pair, which has dark markings from the distal femur to tarsus. Leg macrosetae: Femur, I–IV d 1 di, p 2 di. Patella, II–II p 1 di, III d 1 me, IV re 1 me. Tibia, I v 2- 2 -2; II v 2-2 -2, p 1-1-1; III–IV v 1 -0-1, d 2-2-2. Metatarsus, I–II 2 -0-2; III–IV v 2 -0-2, d 2-0-2. Abdomen dorsally yellowish with dark brown longitudinal wide markings with some anterior transverse dark bands ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 3 – 4 ); ventrally yellow with a wide longitudinal dark brown stripe. Spinnerets dark brown.
Variation (n=3). Total length: 5.10–5.70. Carapace length: 2.40–2.60.
Female (paratype, ICN -Ar 8209). Total length: 6.00. Carapace yellow, 2.80 long, 2.20 wide, 2.00 high. Ocular quadrangle yellow, 1.50 long. Anterior eye row 1.80 wide, posterior 1.70 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 3 – 4 ). Sternum yellow, 1.25 long, 0.74 wide. Chelicerae yellow, with four promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Labium yellow. Legs 1342, all yellow. Leg macrosetae: Femur, I–IV d 1 di, p 2 di. Tibia, I–II v 2-2 -2, p 1 di; III v 1 pr, p 0-1-1, r 1-1-1; IV v 1 di, p 1-0-1, r 1-1-1. Metatarsus, I–II v 2-2; III v 2 -0-1, p 1-0-2, r 1-0-2; IV v 1 -0-1, p 1-0-2, r 1-0-2. Abdomen yellowish white with markings similar to the male, without the longitudinal wide stripe ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 3 – 4 ); ventrally yellowish white. Epigyne as described above ( Figs 15–16 View FIGURES 12 – 16 ). Spinnerets brown.
Comments. The type material was collected beating low shrubs, on foliage, in a preserved high mountain wet forest ecosystem, together with the type specimens of H. arhuaco sp. nov.
Distribution. Only known from its type locality, in the Magdalena department, Colombia ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 ).
