Oligosita angustipennis Yousuf & Shafee, 1992: 15 View in CoL –16, ♀. India, Uttar Pradesh, Meerut (ZDAMU, examined).
Oligosita angustipennis Yousuf & Shafee View in CoL : Hayat, 2008: 12 –13, ♀ figures, taxonomy. Begum & Anis, 2013: 45, ♀, list. Begum & Anis, 2014: 9, checklist.
Redescription. Female. Length, 0.62 mm. Body brown. Head with frontovertex pale yellow; eye dark. Antenna with scape pale brown; pedicel and flagellum brown. Mandible with tip honey brown. Mesosoma with pronotum dark brown; mesoscutum, scutellum and metanotum lightly washed with brown; side lobes of metanotum and propodeum dark brown. Fore wing hyaline. Legs with hind coxae dark brown; middle part of hind femur dark brown but apical part pale brown; tibiae and tarsi brown but last segment of tarsi dark brown. Head, in frontal view, broader than high; frontovertex with transversely elongated striations and with 9 prominent setae; eye height 2.75× as long as malar space (44:16). Antenna ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1, 2 ) with scape 3.62× as long as broad (29:8); pedicel 2.3× as long as broad (21:9); funicle 1.5× as long as broad (12:8); clava 3.6× as long as broad (40:11).
Mesosoma. Pronotal collar with 3 pair of setae; mid lobe of mesoscutum 1.2× as broad as long (42:35); scutellum 2× as broad as long (40:20); metanotum equal in length to propodeum (4:4); mesophragma extending up to TII of gaster. Fore wing ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1, 2 ) 4× as long as broad (200:50); marginal fringe subequal in length to wing width (52:50); disc densely setose. Hind wing about 31.3× as long as broad (188:6); marginal fringe 7× as long as wing width (42:6).
Metasoma. Gaster longer than mesosoma (148:75); ovipositor 1.20−1.25× as long as hind tibia and 1.25× as long as mid tibia, originating from TIII.

Type material examined. Holotype, ♀ (on two slides), labelled, “M.Y.R.A. 616 Oligosita ___ sp.n. Phaphund Village Distt-Meerut 29.ix.1990 M. Yousuf” and another label added by Hayat “Female Oligosita angustipennis Yousuf & Shafee HOLOTYPE (Parts) det. M. Hayat, 2007” and “Female Oligosita angustipennis Yousuf & Shafee HOLOTYPE (Body) det. M. Hayat, 2007” ( ZDAMU, HYM. CH.415).
Additional material examined. INDIA: KERALA: Ernakulam, Kozhencherry, 1 ♀, 12.i.2012, coll. F. R. Khan. UTTAR PRADESH: Aligarh, Begum Sultan Jahan, 1 ♀, 23.x.2013, coll. S. Begum ( ZDAMU). Material determined and listed by Begum & Anis (2013) was also examined.
Distribution. India: Kerala (new record); Uttar Pradesh.
Comments. The original description of this species was based on a single female. The holotype is on two slides, one slide with one antenna and fore wing under a large coverslip, and the rest of the body (head partly damaged; mesosoma and metasoma somewhat crushed) on another slide under a small coverslip.
This species appears to be very similar to O. macrothoracica Lin (1994) , but differs from the latter in having the fore wing with different setation ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1, 2 ) and about 4× as long as broad, and the clava about 3.6× as long as broad. In O. macrothoracica the fore wing is 3× as long as broad and the clava 4.6× as long as broad.
