DESCRIPTION. — Scales dense, white with pink shine, identifiable by the following characters combined: rostrum convex, lacking longitudinal impressions, with broad bare median line; prementum lacking setae; prothorax rounded, not compress on sides; interstria 7 elevated to costa similar to that on 9; apical processes, in lateral view, not projecting beyond apical margin of elytra, reduced to swellings or knobs; interstsriae with large granules, each bearing a long, nearly recumbent seta; striae with very small granules.

Length: 11.5-14.5 mm.

TYPE MATERIAL . — The type material (two specimens) should be in MNHN. Not seen .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Vanuatu. Espíritu Santo. Two specimens.

ETYMOLOGY. — The specific name refers to the relatively pronounced convexity of the elytra.

REMARKS. — The two specimens that were available for this faunal essay were collected at 1200 m of altitude (4000 ft) around Tatarii, Espíritu Santo Island.
