TYPE MATERIAL. — 10 syntypes located. Lectotype male, 7.5 x 4.6 mm, bicristatus Montr., Woodlark, MNHN. Paralectotypes with 1 IRSN, 2 MAMU, 5 MNHN, 1 NHRS .
CURRENT STATUS. — Peteinus bicristatus (Montrouzier) n. comb. (from Otiorhynchus ), senior synonym of Peteinus thomsoni Marshall (1956) n. syn., type species of Peteinus Marshall (1956) .
