Redescription. Male large size, female larger. Fastigium of vertex sloping, without the preocular foveola. Frontal ridge almost parallel side. Anterior margin of the disk of pronotum triangularly pointed near median carina, posterior margin obtuse or acute angulated. Median carina of pronotum in lateral view arch-like, usually smooth or in some specimens gently cut by hind transverse furrow. Mesosternal interspace trapezoidal, in male 1.5 – 1.8 times, in female 1.9 – 2.0 times as broad as long. Metasternal interspace transverse, 2.8 – 3.9 times as broad as long. Upper and lower sides of hind femora without spines or teeth; upper basal lophus distinctly shorter and wider than lower one. Hind tibia with 9 – 11 outer and 7 – 9 inner spines (including outer and inner apical spines). Both claws equal in length; arolium in male large, far surpassing the apex of claws, in female reaching apical 3/4 of claws. Male last tergite without furculae. Male supra-anal plate with deep longitudinal median groove, in female with weak median longitudinal groove. Subgenital plate in male long, in profile with pointed apex; in female elongated, with triangularly pointed posterior margin. Ovipositor short. The apical valves of penis with bifurcated apex.
Composition. One species.
Remark. Genus Sinohaplotropis was established for two males with apex of subgenital plate bifurcate in dorsal view (Cao & Yin, 2008). The shape of male subgenital plate is variable from pointed to weakly or distinctly bifurcate apex in the same locality (Klimoutsy in Russia, Guntshulin in China), but the structures of male genitalia and other parts of body are identical. Herein we consider S. elunchuna conspecific with H. brunneriana and synonymize genus Sinohaplotropis with Haplotropis .
