Type material. Holotype: female, China, Yunnan Province, Lushui County, Luomumuo Township, 27.16784°N, 98.71782°E, 2682 m, 3 May 2004, Guang-xu Peng (20040503-2–1). Paratypes: 2 females, same data as holotype (20040503-2–2); 3 females, China, Fugong County, Lumadeng Township, 500 m radius of guesthouse at Shibali, 27.16519°N, 98.77891°E, 2525 m, 1–7 May 2004, Charles Griswold & David Kavanaugh (CGY24–1); 1 female, China, Yunnan Province, Fugong County, Lishadi Township, 0.3 km SE of Shibali, 27.16337°N, 98.78208°E, 2475 m, 9 August 2005, David Kavanaugh (DHK-2005-069–1); 1 female, China, Yunnan Province, 2 km Yaping to Fugong, 27.17750°N, 98.75510°E, 2500 m, 7 May 2004, Heng-mei Yan (20040507-1–1); 1 female, China, Yunnan Province, Lushui County, Pianma Township, Yaojiaping forest station, 25.96911°N, 98.70713°E, 2586 m, roadside, 18 May 2005, Ke-ji Guo (GKJ009–1).
Etymology. The specific name comes from Latin word “ fabaria ”, means bean-shaped, and refers to the shape of the anterior burse.
Diagnosis. This new species is similar to U. arcuata sp. nov. in: epigynum longer than wide, atrium posteriorly located, copulatory ducts long, and spermathecae located posteriorly, but can be distinguished by having: (1) copulatory opening slit-shaped ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 B, 6A); (2) copulatory opening on the center of the epigynum ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 B, 6A); (3) anterior bursae extended to the area above the spermathecae ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 C, 6B); (4) spermathecae wider than long ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 C, 6B).
Description. Female (holotype): Total length 5.13. Carapace: 2.20 long, 1.74 wide. Opisthosoma: 2.85 long, 2.05 wide. Eyes sizes and interdistances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.16, PME 0.10, PLE 0.13, AME–AME 0.05, AME– ALE 0.05, AME–PME 0.08, PME–PME 0.18, PME–PLE 0.21, ALE–PLE 0.15. Clypeus 0.10 high. Carapace dark brown, with white hairs, without pattern. Anterior eye row almost straight, posterior eye row recurved, wider posteriorly. Fovea dark, longitudinal, short bar-shaped. Sternum reddish brown, with white hairs. Chelicerae colored as sternum, with lateral condyle, 3 promarginal and 3 retromarginal teeth. Labium longer than wide. Legs light brown, without strong spines or ventral cusps. Metatarsi III–IV with preening brushes on ventral. Leg measurements: I 5.53 (1.68, 2.00, 1.15, 0.70), II 5.23 (1.55, 1.85, 1.13, 0.70), III 4.54 (1.18, 1.88, 1.00, 0.48), IV 5.38 (1.55, 1.85, 1.45, 0.53), formula: I, IV, II, III. Opisthosoma ovoid, with black hairs. Dorsum ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A) yellowish black with two pairs of muscular impressions, a lightly colored pattern on median of dorsum, with 7 transverse arch-shaped patterns from one third position to posterior end of dorsum, anal tubercle white. Venter colored as dorsum, with light longitudinal median stripe. Spinnerets yellowish brown, posterior laterals longest and strongest, posterior medians shortest.
Epigynum longer than wide ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 B, 6A); atrium posteriorly located; copulatory opening on the center of epigynum, separate from each other, diagonal arch-shaped. Vulva ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 C, 6B): copulatory ducts long (longer than half of the connecting ducts), almost straight; spermathecae located posteriorly; anterior bursae above the top of spermathecae, bean-shaped.
Male: Unknown.
Variation. Females, total length 4.40–6.05.
Distribution. China (Yunnan Province).
