Report associated with sponges: This species was reported in association with sponges growing on the shells of living and dead mussels ( Hyridella menziesz ) taken in Lake Waikare in New Zealand ( Schröder 1935).
Remarks: Crowell (1990) reported that extensive field collections were made on both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, but repeated attempts to collect sponges in Lake Waikare (Schröder's reported locality) were unproductive.
