Etymology: —The species epithet refers to the Holotype locality (Pipahai Lake, Ningwu County, Shanxi Province, China).
Diagnosis: —The colonies narrow and short. Cells with two heterokont flagella, surrounded by a lorica. Lorica cylindric, wide and short, 23–36 μm long, 8–12 μm wide. The base of the lorica first widens and then becomes constricted, the pointed part of the lorica forming an oblique cone. The upper opening of the lorica expanded slightly, cylindrical in the upper part of the middle section.
Type: — CHINA, Shanxi province, Pipahai Lake (38°51’40”N, 112°13’7”E), phytoplankton, collected by Lin Yang, 21 September 2017 (Holotype: SXU-NW201710; Paratype: NW201710). Deposited in Herbarium of Shanxi University ( SXU), Shanxi University, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China GoogleMaps .
