Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality.

Diagnosis. Pimoa yajiangensis n. sp. resembles P. reniformis Xu & Li, 2007 ( Xu & Li 2007: 493, figs 42–47) in having similar dorsal and ventral plates, which become narrow posteriorly and having an oval mark on the dorsal plate. However, the new species can be distinguished from all other Pimoa species by a heart-shaped epigynal ventral plate and the copulatory ducts with two turns directed dorso-ventrally before entering the spermathecae ( Fig. 4A, B View FIGURE 4 ).

Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ): Total length 10.24. Carapace 4.10 long, 3.09 wide. Abdomen 6.84 long, 5.64 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.22, ALE 0.21, PME 0.21, PLE 0.22; AME–AME 0.16, AME– ALE 0.19, PME–PME 0.18, PME–PLE 0.24. Carapace brownish with black lateral margins; thoracic fovea and radial grooves distinct; sternum brownish. Abdomen black with yellowish transverse chevron bands. Legs brownish with black annulations. Leg measurements: I: 21.16 (6.23, 7.08, 5.42, 2.43); II: 19.07 (5.62, 6.33, 4.87, 2.25); III: 14.14 (4.32, 4.44, 3.62, 1.76); IV: 18.56 (5.67, 6.17, 4.73, 1.99).

Epigynum ( Fig. 4A, B View FIGURE 4 ): heart-shaped; ventral and dorsal plates posteriorly narrow; copulatory openings distinct; Copulatory ducts with two turns and not fused; spermathecae round, touching each other; fertilization ducts oriented laterally.
