Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of short simple hairs, leaflets (3–)5–7(–9), opposite, mostly 6.9–17 cm long, 2–5 cm broad, oblanceolate or elliptic, glabrous except for tufts of hair in axils of secondary veins below, glandular-punctate and -striate, inflorescence mostly 5–16 cm long, a lax-branched panicle, petals 5, 2.5–4 mm long, free, imbricate, filaments completely fused, anthers 8–10(–12), nectary annular, ovary 3-locular, glabrous, locules with 1–2 collateral ovules, fruit 1–1.3 cm long, 3-valved, broadly ovoid to globose, papillose, seeds 1–2 in each valve, arillode surrounding upper half of seed only.

Distribution & Ecology. Eastern coastal Brazil from Bahia southwards to Rio Grande do Sul, in lowland rain forest.
