Distribution in Iran: Ardabil (de Beaumont 1957).

General distribution: Algeria, Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Libya, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Remarks: Two subspecies, Cerceris circularis dacica de Beaumont, 1950 ( Morice 1921) and Cerceris circularis magnifica Schletterer, 1887 (de Beaumont 1957) have been recorded from Iran.
