Distribution in Iran: Golestan ( Radoszkowski 1871), Kordestan (Samin & Bagriacik 2015), North Khorasan ( Kohl & Handlirsch 1889), West Azerbaijan (Samin et al. 2015).
General distribution: Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Russia, Spain, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Remarks: This species was first recorded as Sphex strigulosus ( Kohl & Handlirsch 1889) .
