Ficus rufa Schott (1827: 410) View in CoL
≡ Urostigma rufum (Schott) Miquel (1847: 528) View in CoL .
Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. Without locality, s.d., Schott s.n. (lectotype: B 100000048 !).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the herbarium where the type of F. rufa was deposited. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cited Schott s.n. ( B) as the holotype ; however, this cannot be considered a lectotypification because it was published after 2001 and the necessary statement “designated here” or a similar phrase were not used ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 7.11). Here, we designate Schott s.n. ( B 100000048 ) as the lectotype because it is the only known collection for this species .
Taxonomical notes:— This taxon is currently considered a synonym of F. holosericea ( Berg & Villavicencio 2004) .
