Ficus galeata Lundell (1975: 155) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):— GUATEMALA. Peten, Tikal , in ramonal covering the ruins, 14 January 1962, C. L. Lundell 17091 (lectotype: LL 00370468 !; isolectotype: LL 00370467 !, S!).
Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue indicates the type of Ficus galeata was deposited in the herbarium LL. There are two preparations from a single gathering at that institution both with one label only, i.e. Lundell 17091. It is unclear from the label whether these two preparations are from the same specimen or two distinct specimens sharing a single original label. Following the Art. 8.3 from the ICN ( Turland et al. 2018);we consider them as duplicates. Based on this, we designate here Lundell 17091 (LL 00370468) as a lectotype because this specimen is better preserved and contains branches, leaves, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— This name is considered a synonym of F. crocata by several authors (e.g., Berg 2009, Ibarra-Manríquez et al. 2012, Carvajal 2012).
