Ficus alvareziana Dugand (1942: 29) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):— COLOMBIA. Caquetá, Venecia, orillas del Río Orteguaza , 31 March 1940, J. Cuatrecasas 8951 (lectotype: COL 3796 About COL !, isolectotypes: COL 3797 About COL !, US!).
Nomenclatural notes:— There is no reference in the protologue, to which specimen at COL is the holotype of F. alvareziana . There are two preparations from a single gathering (Cuatrecasas 8951) with no clear indication on the label whether these are parts of the same specimen or different individuals ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 8.3). Therefore, these are considered as two duplicates and we designate one of them as the lectotype because it contains branches with syconia, leaves and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— Ficus alvareziana is synonimized as Ficus trigona by Berg & Villavicencio (2004).
