Ficus standleyana Dugand (1944: 441) View in CoL
≡ Urostigma verrucosum Liebmann (1851: 321) View in CoL .
≡ Ficus verrucosa (Liebm.) Hemsley (1883:148) View in CoL , nom. illeg., non Vahl (1805: 192).
≡ Ficus hemsleyana Standley (1917: 29) View in CoL nom. illeg., non King (1888: 112).
Lectotype (designated here):— NICARAGUA. Without locality, 1845–1848, Ørsted 14337 (lectotype: C 10015415 !).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the herbarium where the type of F. standleyana was deposited. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cited Ørsted 14337 ( C) as the holotype ; however, this cannot be considered a valid lectotypification because it was published after 2001 and the required statement “designated here” or a similar phrase were not used ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 7.11). Here, we designate Ørsted 14337 ( C 10015415 ) as a lectotype because it is the only known collection for this species .
Taxonomical notes:— Ficus standleyana was accepted by Dugand (1942) and later synonimized by DeWolf (1960) under Ficus citrifolia Miller (1768 : no. 10). Most recently Berg & Villavicencio (2004) synonymized this name with F. crocata .
