Ficus venosissima Lundell (1975: 159) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):— GUATEMALA. Alta Verapaz, Rio Sebol, Randal Grande , on riverbank, 9 May 1964, E. Contreras 4649 (lectotype: LL 00370484 !; isolectotype: LL 00370483 !, S!).
Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue indicates the holotype of F. venosissima is deposited at the herbarium LL but there are two preparations from a single gathering (E. Contreras 4649) at LL. It is unclear from the label whether these two preparations are part of the same specimen or not. Following the Art. 8.3 from the ICN ( Turland et al. 2018) we considered these to be duplicates. Therefore, we designate here the specimen E. Contreras 4649 (LL 00370484) as a lectotype because it contains taxonomically informative characters such as branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— The name is currently considered a synonym of F. crocata (e.g., Berg 2009, Ibarra-Manríquez et al. 2012).
