Diagnosis. Ariadna cephalotes is similar to A. boliviana due to the morphology of the male metatarsi I, with short ventro-prolateral macrosetae ( Figs 34C‒E View FIGURE34 , 36C‒E View FIGURE 36 ), and tibiae I‒II macrosetae pattern of females, but differ by the male palp with short embolus with a basal anterior keel ( Fig. 35A‒B View FIGURE 35 ); females differ by the presence of an anterior receptaculum with the dorsal lobe with enlarged tip, and ventral lobe depressed ventrally ( Fig. 35C‒D View FIGURE 35 ).
Note. Although Grismado's drawing (2008: figs 8J‒K) show the dorsal lobe with a less enlarged tip that the specimen we present in this study ( Figs 35C‒D View FIGURE 35 ), both specimens present the ventral lobe depressed ventrally.
