Diagnosis. Several long setae on carapace, ocular lobe with three lenses, one dorsal denticle (spine) on dorsal margin of carapace, strong anterior ventral corner of the carapace, smooth ventral margin, maxilliped 3 propodus 1.37 times carpus length; uropodal peduncle 1.14 times last pleonite length in female, 1.32 in male.
Description. Subadult female (holotype MGAB CUM 1723).
Body size: 2.25 mm ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A).
Carapace ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A), 0.30 times entire body length, 1.83 times as long as high, ocular lobe with five lenses, pseudorostrum 0.17 times frontal lobe length, with two terminal long simple setae, strong anterior-ventral corner, smooth ventral margin, several simple long setae and one denticle on dorsal margin.
Antenna 1 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B). Basal article of peduncle 0.9 times rest of articles combined length, one simple long seta on medial margin, median article 1.21 times apical article length, three simple long setae on medial margin, one complex pedunculate seta on outer margin of apical article of main flagellum, main flagellum 0.78 times apical article of peduncle length, 2 long aesthetascs, minute accessory flagellum with one long complex pedunculate seta and three long simple setae.
Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C). Basis 0.84 times as long as rest of articles together, six short plumose setae on medial margin, two long pappose setae on outer process; merus 3 times as long as ischium, one plumose seta on medial margin, one long pappose seta and one shorter on outer margin; carpus 1.13 times as long as merus, medial margin with fine setae, one short simple, three longer plumose setae and one pappose seta on medial margin; propodus 1.37 times as long as carpus, three pappose setae on medial margin; dactylus 0.5 times as long as propodus, three subterminal setae, terminal robust pectinate seta 1.63 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D). Basis 0.42 times as long as rest of articles together; merus as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin of both articles; carpus 2 times as long as merus, four simple setae on medial margin, propodus 1.25 times as long as carpus, two simple setae on medial distal margin; dactylus 0.32 as long as propodus, terminal robust seta 1.75 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 2 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 E). Basis 0.68 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 3 times as long as ischium length, one simple seta on medial margin; carpus 1.66 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial distal margin; dactylus 1.83 times as long as propodus, one simple seta on serrate medial margin, two simple short setae on lateral side, two subterminal setae and one terminal robust seta 1.5 times the length of dactylus; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 3 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 F). Basis 1.07 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.5 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin of both articles; carpus 1.83 times as long as merus; propodus 0.63 times as long as carpus, one simple seta on medial margin; dactylus 0.25 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal robust seta.
Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 G). Basis 0.8 times as long as rest of articles together, two simple setae on medial margin, one simple seta on outer margin; merus 1.8 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin; carpus 3 times as long as merus, two simple setae on medial margin, one on outer margin; propodus 1.18 times carpus; dactylus 0.27 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal robust seta.
Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 H). Basis 0.51 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 2 times as long as ischium; carpus 2.33 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin; propodus as long as carpus; dactylus 0.21 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal robust seta.
Uropod ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 I). Peduncle 1.14 times as long as last pleonite, five simple setae on outer margin, medial margin with fine setae and five longer ones, 2 times the endopod length; exopod broken, three fine simple setae, one fine seta on medial distal margin of exopod; medial margin of endopod with fine setae and one longer and more robust, one subterminal and one terminal seta 0.95 times endopod length.
Description. Subadult male (paratype MGAB CUM 1724).
Body size: 2.23 mm ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A).
Carapace ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A), 0.3 times total body length, 1.75 as long as high, one dorsal denticle, several long setae on dorsal and lateral side.
Pereon, one long seta on distal margin of 2nd pereonite, two setae on 3rd and 4th and one on the 5th pereonite.
Pleon, one long seta on the posterior end of the first five pleonites.
Antenna 1 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 B). Basal article of peduncle 0.77 times as long as rest of articles together, two simple long setae on medial distal margin, one simple long seta on medial margin of middle article, one complex pedunculate seta on outer margin, one complex pedunculate seta on both margins of apical article, shorter setae on accessory flagellum than in female. Main flagellum as long as apical article of peduncle, two terminal aesthetascs and two long simple setae, short accessory flagellum with one complex pedunculate seta and three simple short ones.
Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 C). Basis 0.88 times as long as rest of articles together, fine setae on distal half of medial margin and three simple setae, two pappose setae on outer process; merus 2.5 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin, one pappose seta on outer margin; carpus 1.13 times as long as merus, fine setae and one pappose seta on medial margin, one pappose seta on outer margin; propodus 1.29 times as long as carpus, three pappose setae on medial margin; dactylus 0.59 times as long as propodus, terminal robust pectinate seta as long as dactylus; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D). Basis 0.58 times rest of articles combined length, two simple setae on distal medial margin, one simple seta on outer margin; merus 1.23 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on both margins; carpus 2.19 times as long as merus, three simple setae on medial margin, three on outer margin, propodus 1.06 times as long as carpus, two simple setae on median margin and one on outer margin, dactylus 0.51 times as long as propodus, two subterminal simple setae and one terminal robust seta little longer than dactylus; incompletely developed exopod.

Basis 0.96 times rest of articles together, two simple setae on medial margin, hyaline crest and five long simple setae on outer margin; merus 1.7 times as long as ischium, two simple setae on medial margin; carpus 1.28 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin, two setae on distal outer margin; dactylus 1.5 times as long as propodus, one seta on medial margin of propodus, three setae on medial margin of dactylus, one seta on outer margin, three subterminal setae and one terminal robust seta 1.33 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.

Basis 0.83 times as long as rest of articles together, one simple seta on medial margin, three setae on outer margin; merus 2.16 times as long as ischium; carpus 1.61 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin of ischium to carpus; propodus 0.8 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.35 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal robust seta; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 G). Basis 1.04 times as long as rest of articles together, one plumose seta on medial margin, three simple ones on outer margin, merus as long as ischium; carpus 1.2 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin of ischium to carpus; propodus 1.25 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.33 times as long as propodus, one simple seta on medial distal margin, fused with terminal robust seta; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 H). Basis 0.53 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.7 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial distal margin of basis to merus; carpus 2.25 times as long as merus; propodus 0.7 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.31 times propodus length, fused with terminal robust seta.
Uropod ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 I). Peduncle 1.32 times as long as last pleonite, two simple setae on outer margin, medial one with fine setae and five longer ones, 2.22 times endopod length; exopod 0.81 times as long as endopod, one simple seta on outer margin of distal article, one subterminal seta and terminal robust seta as long as exopod distal article, fine setae and two longer setae on medial margin of endopod, one subterminal and one terminal robust seta 0.81 times endopod length.
Etymology. The species is named longiseta , in reference to the long setae on the dorsal margin of the body.
Remarks. Cumella longiseta sp. nov. resembles C. coralicola Băcescu, 1971 and C. pilosa Băcescu, 1971 from Florida ( Băcescu, 1971) and C. maxipropa sp. nov. from Puerto Rico in the long setae on body. Cumella coralicola has more setae on the body, the dorsal margin of the carapace devoid of denticles, anteroventral corner of the carapace without a prominent ventral corner and ocular lobe with two lenses vs. five in the new species. Cumella longiseta differs from C. maxipropa in: 1) more long setae on body; 2) prominent anterior ventral corner vs. rounded corner of the carapace; 3) accessory flagellum of antenna 1 with one vs. two articles; 4) maxilliped 3 propodus, shorter, 1.37 vs. 1.61; 5) uropodal peduncle with five setae on medial margin vs. one; 6) uropodal endopod medial margin with two longer setae and short numerous ones vs. peduncle with two longer setae and four shorter ones.
